Accessibility Plan 

The Queenscliff Town Hall aims to be a safe and accessible space for all to enjoy. The below information has been supplied to be able to inform our guests of the accessibility features and services available at the venue. We hope this will be helpful in planning your visit to the venue. If you have any questions, special requests or comments regarding accessibility please contact us prior to your visit. 

GETTING HERE 

ACCESSIBLE PARKING – The front of the venue (Learmonth St) has a roadside perpendicular parking lot which has a disability access parking spot within.

DROP OFF / PICK UP – There is also ample space at the front of the venue (Learmonth St) for pick-ups and drop-offs.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE ENTRANCE – The Queenscliff Town Hall is a single-story building that’s main entrance sits at ground level. This entrance has wide double doors for easy access. Additionally, there is a secondary access ramp to the Northern side of the venue.

SERVICE

Hospitality service at the venue is generally over the bar, however if you have any special requirements, please let our staff know and they’ll be happy to assist.

This may include:

  • moving tables for access
  • assistance with ordering
  • usher service
  • providing paper straws
  • or finding a quiet space.

Please call the venue ahead of your visit if you have any particular concerns or questions around your visit.

GUIDE DOGS and SERVICE DOGS

Guide dogs and service dogs are welcome in the venue. Please see our staff if you would like water for your guide dog. Due to noise levels and lighting in the band room you might consider the use of an alternative aid if attending a show. 

PERFORMANCE HALL / ATTENDING A SHOW

PURCHASING TICKETS – Tickets are available on our website www.queensclifftownhall.com.au. If you are unsure about how to purchase please contact our box office and they will be able to assist with any questions you may have.

COMPANION CARDS – The venue accepts companion cards. Please contact the box office at the time of booking so we can arrange access for your companion.

ENTRY ON THE NIGHT – Tickets are delivered as e-tickets to your email to be scanned on the door, however you can also simply provide photo id at the door if this is easier.

SEATING FOR PEOPLE WITH DIFFICULTY STANDING – Most shows within the hall are seated events however, if an event is using a standing room arrangement and you are unable to stand for extended periods of time seating can be arranged for you. Please contact the box office prior to show day to arrange.

ACCESSIBLE TOILETS – Our wheelchair accessible toilet is located to the right of the stage located within the main hall.

HEARING DIFFICULTIES – The venue is fitted with a hearing augmentation loop. If you require listening assistance, please see one of our venue staff who can provide you with a hearing loop receiver for use with hearing aids or via headphones.

SHOWS WITH STROBE LIGHTING – Every effort is made to ensure there is signage for any shows including strobe lighting, however this may not always be possible. Please contact the venue if you have any concerns around strobe or flashing lighting for a show you are attending.

BAND ROOM LIGHTING – Please note that at times there is low lighting in and around the hall as a requirement for shows. If you have low vision and need assistance, please let us know.

PASS OUTS – You are free to come and go as you please from the performance hall once your ticket has been processed and you have a stamp. Please see our door or security staff if you require assistance or need a quiet place for a break during the show.
